About the Mini Owners Club

The Club was formed in 1979 as a backdrop to the great enthusiasm shown for the Mini in its 20th year, bringing together Mini followers countrywide and world-wide, and is now the largest Mini Club in the world. The Mini Owners Club has grown steadily over the years and enjoys full Rover approval and is highly regarded by the major motor magazines for all of its benefits to our members.

You do not need to own a Mini to be a Club member. All the Mini models are catered for from 1959 to the present day, including Specials, Variants and Limited Editions are welcome.

A large number of areas run by members form the social side of the Club, and during the summer they hold their own small events and shows which are perfect for a friendly day out.

The Mini Owners Club is the ONLY Mini Club in Great Britain which has its own personal insurance department, a benefit which has given members savings on their premiums, all of which run into much more than the costs of being a member of the Club, so can you afford NOT to be a member? The Club will also give members free agreed valuations to members who do not wish to take out insurance with our own department.

The Club holds a large selection of Mini spares, decals, a full range of Mini badges and accessories at the office which have been re-manufactured to fill the gap when older supplies have dried up, as well as modern day requirements. These are obtainable by post at special prices for members. A full list is included with the membership pack. Books and videos also form part of this service to members. Club regalia includes sweatshirts, T-shirts, brollies, mugs etc.

The magazine is produced quarterly to follow the seasons. The Club aims to make this magazine varied, of interest and to help members learn about and enjoy their car. Several Registers are run within the club, catering for Limited Editions, Special/Anniversary Editions, 1275GT's, Utility/not-quite-utility, Mk1 and Mk2 Mini's.

The Mini Owners Club normally holds TWO National Meetings a year (however, for the Mini 40th Anniversary year in 1999, the Club will only be holding ONE National Meeting), these consist of concours, driving test, trade stands etc, with members coming from all over the country to form a bumper Mini day for all enthusiasts. These meetings are normally held within nice surroundings and gardens to form a complete Mini environment.

Technical advice can be given and we endeavour to help our members with any problems they may have with their car.

The Club holds the honour of being a member of the RAC Associated Club Scheme which enables us to offer members preferential rates, a specially tailored service and traditional car badge.

The Club is a member of the Association of Car Clubs and is recognised by B.M.I.H.T, Rover and the DLVA for the verification of vehicles.

We encourage our members to send to us details of any parts for sale or any parts they require and we place them in the Club magazine as soon as possible with their telephone number and/or address. So all members may benefit from your spares, if your parts are not sold or your requirements not filled and you wish to advertise again, just drop us a line and we will gladly place them in the following magazine. These adverts are FREE of charge.
